While some fathers might have a bit of a trouble dealing with this fact, one sleep-deprived dad used this knowledge to his advantage and came up with an amazing baby hack. Eli Spector became an overnight pro dad when he posted a short footage on YouTube. The video showed how Spector calmed his crying son with nothing but mommy’s dirty shirt.

Spector’s baby, who was crying his lung out, calmed down the second he got a whiff of his mommy from one of her shirts. He even snuggled it close and went to his happy place — totes adorbs!

It has been scientifically proven that even 3-day-old newborns are able to discriminate their mum's scent. Not only do they recognise the scent, they love it too. "A baby will snuggle his nose between your chin and shoulder," says Alice Sterling Honig, Ph.D., professor emerita of child development at Syracuse University. "He's thinking, 'Oh, you smell so good. You're my mommy!'"
