Starting a family in the UAE can be financially overwhelming, considering all the expenses parents are acquainted to from the moment the child is born. Sometimes even before that.
But every bitter thing is sweet, especially in Dubai where the government works constantly to improve a resident's convenience. This was evident when it became mandatory for every resident to have access to health insurance and maternity coverage.
However, here’s what you need to keep in mind when considering applying for maternity coverage in Dubai and the UAE:
- Plan Ahead
Some insurance packages require a 6-month waiting period before the policyholder can actually benefit from it. Therefore, keep in mind to applying a year before getting pregnant.
If you’re already pregnant in Dubai and not insured, the insurance company might add a significance amount to cover the maternity costs.
